As you may or may not know, I love Mexican food! I try to go out to different restaurants and try as many different things as I can. Though lately I’ve been having trouble deciding what to try. But that’s a different story. The latest place we’ve gone was Fiesta Charra in DeWitt. The atmosphere was excellent and the menu was comprehensive. While it wasn’t as massive as Los Tres Amigos, I’m almost glad it wasn’t. I tend to get a little overwhelmed when I see the Los Tres menu. But I digress…
We started with the typical Chips and salsa. The salsa at Fiesta Charra has a great consistency, texture and spiciness. It wasn’t too hot and not too mild. I guess one could call it medium… 🙂 Needless to say, the chips were marvelous and very fresh with a crisp crunch.
I finally decided on the Burritos Mexicanos, one with beef tips and the other with shredded beef. It was hard to decide with version I liked better, though eating the beef tips one was a tad easier. They came with an appropriately sized dollops of sour cream and guacamole. Not an overwhelming amount of either, rather just the right amount. The lettuce under my goo was fresh, nicely shredded and crispy like lettuce should be, not limp and icky.
I really enjoyed the experience and also like the fact that they have Dos Exis Amber on tap. Which if you believe Beer Magazine came in #1 in the Mexican Beers category. I’ll definitely be visiting Fiesta Charra again in the near future!
